Sandwiches
All’Antico Vinaio - pro-tip, pick it up and walk up to Piazza Michelangelo to eat it with a view of all of Florence
Da Nerbone - if you’re a porchetta lover, this place is for you. It’s in Mercato Centrale and has been open since 1872! Get the Porchetta sandwich.
Il Fratellini
Restaurants
Trattoria Sostanza - they do two seaters per night. At 7:30pm and 9:00pm. Famous for their Butter Chicken, Tortellini, and Artichoke Torta. Unreal.
Trattoria Cammillo - one of my favorite restaurants in Florence. The owner’s name is Chiara and her grandfather was Camillo. The head chef started when he was 15 in the kitchen there and is now 54. Draws a local/non-trendy, but chic/in the know crowd. Need reservation.
Cibreino - there’s Restorante Cibrero which is quite upscale/expensive. Right next store is “Cibreino” - it shares a kitchen, but it’s casual and less expensive. It’s DELICIOUS. I was recommended this restaurants by Chiara, the owner of Trattoria Cammillo.
Alla Vecchia Bettola - really delicious, well priced, and they have a delicious pasta with vodka sauce!
Gelato
Gelateria dei Neri - they have a flavor in the glass case called “Il Moretto di Via De Neri” which is literally just nutella. You can literally get a scoop of nutella with your gelato. Their “Riso” (rice) flavor is unbelievable, tastes like rice pudding
Gelateria La Carraia - go to the location on Piazza Nazario Sauro. Their kefir/passionfruit is unbelievable
Coffee Shops and Pasticceria
Caffe Gilli - coffee and pasticceria open since 1733
Pasticceria Nencioni
La Menagere super hip concept store and restaurant. They have beautiful cocktails and a great coffee bar. Full menu all day and for dinner. They also have a little flower shop.)
Forno Bruschi Ivana Hemp (delicious pasticceria/bakery)
Pizza
La Divina Pizza - Really good. Gusta Pizza is pretty touristy/hyped up, so I asked the waiters at Cibrero where they suggested pizza and they said La Divina. Made with natural/real ingredients.
